Snow latest
Storm Goretti certainly brought us lots of the white stuff last night, as expected.
Our teams were out gritting yesterday, overnight and this morning to help keep main routes clear. We did primary routes this morning, secondaries from 1pm, then we’re gritting primaries again from 4pm today and again at 4am tomorrow.
We also proactively closed some of the highest routes overnight in an effort to keep people safe – the A57 Snake Pass, A54/A537 Cat and Fiddle, A6034 Holme Moss, A53 Axe Edge and A5004 Long Hill.

If you are out and about, take care and drive to the conditions. You can sign up to receive alerts on snow updates and road closures. And you can view our traffic cameras online.
While the cold snap continues, please keep an eye on your vulnerable neighbours and check they’re okay.
