South Normanton Community Orchard – Local Roots

Following on from last week’s photos from the South Normanton Community Orchard (Local Roots) planting session we bring you news that the project has been featured on an episode of Bolsover TV.

The Brigg Infant School head teacher, Alison Spencer, and our very own Councillor Andrew Joesbury were both interviewed by the Bolsover TV team on the South Street recreation ground.

The orchard planting project was a joint community venture between Bolsover Community Woodlands Project, The Brigg Infant School and South Normanton Parish Council.

The planting session was organised and coordinated by Katherine Church (Community Woodlands Project Officer – Bolsover District Council). Around 50 different fruit and nut trees were planted on the bottom side of the recreation ground, close to the children’s activity play area.
